The Growth Mindset

 

*What is The Growth Mindset?*

 

This year, you will be hearing a lot from your students about having a "Growth Mindset." But what does this actually mean?

​

Encouraging a "Growth Mindset" helps students to see the power of their brain and what happens when we make mistakes, learn new things, and encounter difficult tasks. 

​

Part of having a "Growth Mindset" means changing the way we think about learning. Students will be doing a lot of work on changing their mindset from a "Fixed" or never changing to a "Growth Mindset" meaning always changing. This is no easy task, but something that can be accomplished with help from both home and school! 

 

Here are some ways that you can encourage a Growth Mindset at home:

Inspiring students to see the leader in themselves is what this year's classroom community will be all about. Through explicit teaching on 7 key habits, students will learn how to be the best version of themselves by finding their inner leader.
